Georgian band circa 1830 has eight hidden compartments and enameled hinged doors, colourful on one side and black initials on the reverse. The doors flip so you can wear the ring with either side facing forward.

This is a piece for an antique jewelry connoisseur - a circa 1790 / 1810 gold long ring with painted enamel pastoral scene (idealized country life) of a peasant girl carrying a basket of greens, set in a sky blue enamel frame embellished with cobalt blue rosettes highlighted by rose cut diamonds. A very rare Georgian era ring in pristine  condition.

An oval amethyst is set to the center of an old mine diamond cluster with a total of approximately 0.75cts mounted in silver topped yellow gold. The memorial ring is well worn for Mary, 1770, with another illegible inscription. The shank would have originally been enameled black.

These beautifully painted tokens of affection were said to have become widespread after George IV (then The Prince of Wales) gave one to Maria Fitzherbert in 1795 along with a proposal of marriage.
