The community of creative, ambitious women in Houston is one of our favorite parts about this city. Back in the spring we collaborated with a group of women who we admire on a garden party, and Marie Flanigan was one of them. We’re so excited to share Marie’s story with you, not only because she is the incredibly talented interior designer behind Marie Flanigan Interiors, but also because she is kind, supportive, and down-to-earth.
When I look back over my three+ decades of life, friendships look different in each one. If I’m being completely honest, maintaining strong friendships in my thirties has been more challenging than it was in my earlier years. It’s not that friendships are less important to me by any means, but big life events — like getting married, having kids, moving cities, pursuing your career etc., can make it more difficult to find quality time to nurture friendships.
I’ll be the first to admit that I love testing out new skincare products. It seems like there is always a new revolutionary ingredient or rediscovered ancient technique, and I’m all about trying something at least once! Just in time for swimsuit season, we had the chance to sit down with Marysia Reeves, the designer and founder of one of our very favorite swimsuit brands MARYSIA. We have been following her beautiful swimsuit designs since she launched the brand nearly a decade ago. Over the years MARYSIA has become a cult favorite among celebrities, fashion editors, bloggers, and stylish sunbathers across the globe.
Monika and I both started our blogs around the same time back in 2011 and I have been a dedicated reader and follower ever since. It’s hard to remember when we actually met because in the digital space you often consider people friends before you have ever even chatted over a cup of coffee, but at some point along the way, we met in New York City and have since enjoyed dinners together...
I’m so excited to share today’s Mom Crush interview with you because it’s with my friend and fellow Houstonian Lyndsey Zorich! Lyndsey and I were introduced to each other through mutual friends (she’s a fellow KKG) when I first moved to Houston 5 years ago and our paths continued to cross through the tight knit local blogging world and it has been so fun getting to know her over the years.
