Ľudovít Štúr was the leader of the Slovak national revival in the 19th century, the author of the Slovak language standard eventually leading to the contemporary Slovak literary language. Štúr was an organizer of the Slovak volunteer campaigns during the 1848 Revolution, he was also politician, poet, journalist, publisher, teacher, philosopher, linguist and member of the Hungarian Parliament.
ThDr. Jozef Tiso (* 13. október 1887, Veľká Bytča (dnes Bytča) – † 18. apríl, 1947, Bratislava, popravený) bol rímskokatolícky kňaz, poslanec česko-slovenského parlamentu, člen česko-slovenskej vlády a jediný prezident prvej Slovenskej republiky, vtedajšieho satelitného štátu Tretej ríše. Po vojne bol odsúdený za vlastizradu a popravený.
Jozef Murgaš (English Joseph Murgas) (17 February 1864 – 11 May 1929) was a Slovak inventor, architect, botanist, painter, patriot, and Roman Catholic priest. He contributed to wireless telegraphy and help develop mobile communications and wireless transmission of information and human voice.

(1859 Slovakia - 1942 Switzerland, buried 1990 in Slovakia) at the first place inventor. 1903 - Steam turbines and their perspectives on how are machines driven by thermal energy; 1908 - awarded highest honor from German engineers; 1940 - awarded Golden medal of James Watt from Britain. He constructed first artificial hand with Dr. Sauerbruch.
