A 13th-14th century fresco of St George and the Princess inside the Basilica di San Zeno. The Basilica of San Zeno is possibly Verona’s grandest church from the outside and certainly within. The resting place of the remains of Saint Zeno – born in Africa, and the eighth bishop of Verona – it is a grand Romanesque basilica, rebuilt after the earthquake which badly hit the city in 1117AD.
