Data wall- Have students put a sticker on the data chart for the percentage they got on their test. Then look at the class data and see how much it changes when they see how many stickers they have in the 100% column! :)

Here is a sample of our ever changing Data Wall. The kids add a sticker every time they get a 100% on their spelling tests. As you can see from the sticker chart, we went from less that 50% of the kids achieving a 100% to almost 100% once we started keeping track of the data! The other charts consist of Excel graphs made up of various pieces of classroom data. The post-it notes on the graphs are the students "thinking" in regards to the data. Twitter Door- The kids can tweet about what is happening. There are enough laminated sentences strips so everyone (including the teacher) has a place to "tweet" on the door.

Week 16

This week all our pictures were taken with the classroom iPad! The kids are really enjoying being able to use the iPad to take pictures of what we are doing in the classroom. We made cells at the beginning of the week. Monday we made animal cells and Wednesday we made plant cells. The photo booth app is also a hit! It sure was a Monday! I stayed late at school today to get all of my plans uploaded, copies made, and organized. WHEW! It feels GREAT! My students are keeping track of the minutes they read AT HOME. We have a contest going on where they can earn prizes and I have a graph on the bulletin board outside of my room. The challenge is for everyone to read 210 minutes, the TSHIRT level!
