Nanotechnology
Collection by Alex Carson
Nanostructures or nanomaterials are forms of matter at the nanoscale. To give you an idea how small this is, if you line up 7 oxygen atoms or 3-4 water molecules, you'll get about one nanometer. But that's hard to imagine either. How about this: a red blood cell is approximately 7,000 nm wide. Or, to use a beaten-to-death comparison: a single hair from you head is about 50,000 - 100,000 nm thick.

Cancer Potential Through Nano-Particles In Certain Products
The medical field is by far one of the most complex fields of science in existence. The medical field essentially determines the fate of the world. They singlehandedly control the health of over a billion people on the planet Earth. The medical field is a field that requires endless amounts of…
You Think GMO Is Scary? Nano Tech is Here, In Your Store
You Think GMO Is Scary? Nano Tech is Here, In Your Store - Nanotechnology is measured in billionths of a meter, encompassing all aspects of life from food to medicine, clothing, to space. Imagine hundreds of microcomputers on the width of a strand of hair programmed for specific tasks....in your body. Sound good?
'I wash all my food like crazy': scientists voice concern about nanoparticles
US foods are increasingly full of nano-scale additives, even as scientists raise alarm bells about their safety
Could your 3D printer make you ill?
Researchers have found that commercially available desktop 3D printers could emit potentially harmful particles into indoor air, which could lead to adverse health conditions.
First Work Place Injury from nanoparticles | NextBigFuture.com
A 26-year-old female chemist formulated polymers and coatings usually using silver ink particles. When she later began working with nickel nanoparticle powder weighed out and handled on a lab bench wi
Exposure to nanoparticles can play major role in development of cardiovascular diseases
Nanoparticles, extremely tiny particles measured in billionths of a meter, are increasingly everywhere, and especially in biomedical products. Their toxicity has been researched in general terms, but now a team of Israeli scientists has for the first time found that exposure nanoparticles (NPs) of silicon dioxide (SiO2) can play a major role in the development of cardiovascular diseases when the NP cross tissue and cellular barriers and also find their way into the circulatory system.
