Bhagat Singh was born on 27 September 1907 in the village of Banga, district of Layalpur in Punjab, now in Pakistan. In his childhood, he dreamt of fighting to make India Independent. He thought of growing guns in the fields to fight the British. 
His uncle Sardar Ajit Singh was also a renowned freedom fighter.
He was influenced by the Ghadar Movement and the Jalllian Wala Bagh Massacre.
He left his home when his parents tried to get him married. He said, “If I marry in slave India, my bride shall only be death. He joined the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association.
