In Aztec cosmology and spirituality, Ometeotl represents the Absolute, the One, the Ultimate Reality beyond all dualism. Its name means "Lord Two", as it embraces both the masculine aspect Ometecuhtli and the feminine aspect Omecihuatl. Yet, deep down, this "duality" paradoxically reflects the Unity that underlies existence. According to the mystical Aztec vision, Ometeotl is the Supreme Being, the first cause, the origin and end of all things. As another name, Teotl, suggests, Ometeotl is a kind of divine energy or force that animates the cosmos. Teotl was originally translated as "god", but actually indicates something broader and more fundamental. Aztec Religion, Jaguars, Sorcery, Inca, Divination, Mayan, Deities
