Design teams are now using the self-supporting, U-shaped, linear cast-glass channels to create distinctive configurations, pushing the form of buildings without taking away from energy performance or daylighting goals. Learn more about channel glass properties and uses in the latest Devil's Detail article, produced in collaboration with TGP Arch
Do you know what kind of glass it is on the buildings in the photos? Yes, it’s architectural U-Shaped Glass / U Channel Glass / U Profiled Glass, a kind of new and easy installed material for interior partition wall and exterior facade wall, which is highly durable, allows light to enter buildings whilst presenting a translucent external appearance.
The Pilkington Profilit™ channel glass wall system consists of self-supporting cast glass channels and an extruded metal perimeter frame. The end result is a wall that obscures vision but allows light to pass through. It can be used in interior or exterior applications, and installed vertically or horizontally.
