Las interpretaciones sobre la función y el significado de este monolito son diversas entre especialistas desde su re descubrimiento en el siglo XVIII. Probablemente fue una plataforma de combate gladiatorio, involucrado probablemente en la festividad mexica Tlacaxipehualiztli. Mide 3,60 metros de diámetro
