Perseids meteor shower. Photo by David Kingham. I only saw one; this shot is amazing. But I got my meteor fix just over a week ago when a flaming giant went right over Grewelthorpe where we happened to be in a field with no light pollution and utterly clear skies. Win!

The sky is falling "Snowy Range Perseid Meteor Shower" by David Kingham of the U. was "highly commended" in the Earth and Space category. Kingham combines 23 individual stills to convey the excitement and dynamism of August's Perseid meteor shower.

i SO want to see a meteor shower! i am always alseep, or have no idea until afterwards when they happen! i think it would be absolutely amazing to watch a meteor shower :)
