In 1990, over 60% of people in East Asia were in extreme poverty. Now only 3.5% are.
Today is the UN's #InternationalDayfortheEradicationofPoverty. It's a fitting day to reflect on how far we've come in this fight. From 2012 to 2013, the number of people in extreme poverty globally fell by 114 million. By continuing in our efforts and concentrating on effective solutions, we can build on this incredible success and eradicate poverty once and for all.
