The Cure, circa 1991. It's never cool to like the band whose frontman is iconic for his pale complexion, wild hair and smudged lipstick (a sad clown if there ever was one). Interestingly though, Smith, known for his frequently gloomy and introspective lyrics, has been the only constant member of the band as if his loneliness pervades all aspects of his life and music. Always wondered this--the Cure for what? Happiness? Sadness? Could be both.
