Trail of Tears.... was President Andrew Jackson's genocide plan. U.S. attempt at an American Indian holocaust. Previously, the government had already tried to eradicate the American buffalo, the Indians main food source.    The government was also able to steal more land from the Indians with this horrific event.

The "Trail of Tears". In 1837, the "Indian Removal Policy" began, to implement the act of Congress, signed by the President who said "that the only good Indian is a dead Indian", Andrew Jackson in 1830. The forced march, consisted of about twenty Native American tribes that included "Five Civilized Tribes" (Creek, Choctaw, Cherokee, Chickasaw, and Seminole). They were pushed into "Indian Territory" (which later became Oklahoma).

The Indian Princess in Topaz and Teal by BarbSmithDesigns. This bracelet features a center row of 6mm fire-polished topaz Czech glass beads finished with a Josephine Knot. The two outer rows are stitched in Light Topaz and frosted Teal Green seed beads. The Indian Princess is adorned with a copper Bali-style button, two copper beaded "feathers" and is stitched on metallic bronze leather cord.The finished wrist size of this cuff is 6 1/3". Best cuff fit would be a 5 3/4" to 6" wrist.

this is probably one of the most depressingly heart-wrenching photos. Native American children taken from their familis and put into school to assimilate them into white society. The slogan for this governmental campaign '"kill the Indian to save the man". no official apology has ever been issued. Never forgotten.
