Consequently, the last phase is hanging of the floors and finishing the interior. Outer ring climber robot will cut openings within stalk fibres. Welded local sand is used to create 3D printed breathable glass. Piping equipment is tracked through porous insulating facade.
ORGANICITY – The grown supercity / eVolo2017 // Diagram from Lab to the plot CRISPR-CAS9 GENE EDITING Genetic engineering puts engineers into a completely new role – i.e. the role of architect/designer using the tools of genetic editing for design of the plant with favourable properties. CRISPR-CAS9 gene editor will help to redesign reed with combination of bamboo genes and new designed gene code for superlignin and cellulose.

ORGANICITY – The grown supercity / eVolo2017 // Skywards STATICS Drones are crosslinking ultra-stalks by stabilisation ropes. The plants do have aerodynamic circular floor section of stalks. Thanks to genetic design of superlignin and cellulose, the effective loadbearing is achieved. Stalk has thin and flexible loadbearing walls. After drying period, interior finishing starts. Interior climber robot hanged the floors. Inserted floors are hanged for reduction of vibrations and stabilisation.
ORGANICITY – The grown supercity / eVolo2017 // view from the top Plant does not require insecticides and pesticides for the growth protection. The plant is genetically designed to be resistant against known fungus and insects. The plant is seeded in November as a callus seed, prepared in laboratory. Plant it is fast growing biotectonic structure which grows with an average 16,4 meters per day. Growing ends next year in May. During the next two hottest months, the ultrastalks are drying.
ORGANICITY – The grown supercity / eVolo 2017 // Growing plot GROWING/DRYING/FINISHING The ‘construction’ of biotecture starts at the growing plot. It takes approximately 11 months to grow high-rise biotectonic structure. The process of growing is divided into following phases: growing 7m (watering, nutritions, care), maturation 2m (drying), and finishing 2m (equipment, floors, lifts, piping, glazing). Nutrition is transported by pipes and tanks to growing plot.
ORGANICITY – The grown supercity / eVolo2017 // Main visualization IDEA Imagine the plant grown from ‘miracle beans’ so big that actually creates enough space for the house, or even more, it can become the house itself. Building which is not built. The present project describes the new type of structurally grown architecture – biotecture. Within the present proposal, it is used to describe accommodable high-rise plant structure which is wholly grown in-situ.
