explanation in desc {MINEE}
okay so basically (spoilers for sotr) in sunrise on the reaping we see a side character, burdock, who is one of haymitchs best friend. when we go back and see when haymitch met lenore dove, (his girlfriend) we see an interaction where lenore dove calls down to burdock, saying "hey cuz!" they are distant cousins. burdock, burdock everdeen, married asterid, katnisses mother and father. lenore dove has the surname baird, meaning she is related to lucy gray. voila. they are related.
