Lafleur  Died August 4, 2007 Serving During Operation Iraqi Freedom  28, of Ignacio, Colo.; assigned to the 1st Squadron, 40th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, Fort Richardson, Alaska; died Aug. 4 in Hawr Rajab, Iraq, when the vehicle he was in struck an improvised explosive device during combat operations.

Corporal Jason K. Lafleur, 28, of Ignacio, Colo., was killed July 31, 2007 from wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle while on a patrol near Hawr Rajab, Iraq.

Causor Jr.  Died July 7, 2007 Serving During Operation Iraqi Freedom  21, of San Jose, Calif.; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.; died July 7 in Samarra, Iraq, of wounds sustained when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device and small-arms fire.

Jaenke  Died June 5, 2006 Serving During Operation Iraqi Freedom  29, of Bay City, Wis.; assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 25, Fort McCoy, Wis.; killed June 5 as a result of enemy action when her Humvee was struck by an improvised explosive device in Anah, Iraq.

Navy PO2. Matthew G. Kantor, 22, of Gillette, New Jersey. Died November 1, 2012, serving during Operation Enduring Freedom. He was a Navy SEAL assigned to an East Coast-based Naval Special Warfare unit in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Died in Zabul Province, Afghanistan, as a result of enemy small arms fire.

Assigned to 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Base Hawaii. Died of injuries sustained when the CH-53E Super Stallion troop transport helicopter he was in crashed in a sandstorm near Rutbah, Anbar Province, Iraq.

Haunting Image by Soldier Killed in Blast Released by Army

Army Specialist Hilda Clayton was killed by a mortar explosion in 2013, but the military only just recently released a chilling image she captured in the final moments of her life.

Assigned to 1st Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, Fort Carson, Colorado. Died of injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat patrol operations in Baghdad, Iraq.
