#HudsonFurniture Mr. Baylar sited the tennis court in the middle of the property along a trail that was originally cut by coal workers. He was careful to preserve the trees and a moss-covered ledge that is part of the natural terrain, he says. His family plays tennis and there is lighting for night-time play.
Mr. Baylar designed the steel windows and had them made in England. The windows were set in traditional putty with bluestone sills in order to be authentic. ‘We rejected the idea of using aluminum strips and other modern fasteners used today,’ says Mr. Baylar. ‘A small specialty crew from Pennsylvania was brought in for this one task—and spent months setting the individual glass panes by hand.’
