This is the Eskimo Laced Edging StitchI harp on my Embroidery 101 students to embrace the running stitch as it is the base stitch for 12 stitches in the running stitch family. Did you know there were stitch families? It's true! the key to this one is to not pull too tight. Notice how I pull up and left after passing under the base stitch. Be sure to use a tapestry needle.
