Karpen Furniture had some nice rooms illustrated in magazines like House Beautiful and American Home during the 1920s. The company tended to specialize in traditional furnishings which the majority of home owners wanted. This room leans toward the 18th C. Colonial style. (I'm building a collection of 20th C. American residential images and articles at Antique Home & Style.)
This sunporch is brighter and more colorful than many other rooms because of the bold green used for trim. The trompe l'oeil painting on the wall replaces more commonly used wallpaper for a more subtle effect. Shown in Ladies Home Journal.

A welcoming kitchen was at the top of the wish list for the owners of this 1920s Colonial Revival. The resulting renovation delivered everything they hoped for while respecting the house’s heritage.
