Hiking the mighty Katahdin is the iconic start of the AT Southbound. The mountain is a deeply sacred site to the Native American peoples; especially the Penobscot, and is a humbling and difficult climb. It's my AT start point, but also the finish point for thousands of Northbound hikers.
