Having student conductors challenge the class with different chords that are not predictive can help with shifting. It also preps the students for songs that have those chords and shifts between each one. I started with 4 strums and 4 beats of silence, but you can make it more challenging by changing the amount of beats or adding more beats to help their practice. Either way this gets them playing these chords repeatedly in a fun way!
