I've been with my company since 2011 - my first summer home as a college kid, where I worked 3 days a week as a floater helping others with any overwhelming loads of work they had. Now that I'm a college grad, I finally had the pleasure of becoming a full time employee. That's right, I went from no desk, to the "extra storage cubicle", to finally my own work space. With that being said, I made myself at home. I created an environment that is not only cozy and cute, but most importantly, it represents me. 2 months later & my DIY desk makeover is finally complete. I'm so excited to tell you about how I did it, and inspire you to fix up your own. *The Beetique is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.* 1. Pick a color and a metallic. Teal blue is my favorite color of all time. Gold is my favorite metallic, but since I had leftover grey and white chevron wall paper from a previous project, I decided to go with silver instead. 2. Go spray paint crazy. Mason jars, picture frames, paperclips, push pins, frame stands, calculators, mason jars, staplers, ANYTHING. Metallics make office supplies look awesome. Some of my favorites are on Amazon below: 3. Glam those walls. Use fabric, scrapbook paper, or sticky wallpaper. I didn't want to get TOO crazy covering my walls from top to bottom, plus I didn't have enough wallpaper. I found my roll of gray and white chevron sticky wall paper, which is available in various patterns on Amazon. I've linked some of my favorites below: It was originally much taller in length as seen below, so I cut the remainder in half to resemble a border instead. You can find peel and stick wallpaper almost anywhere from $12-$15, also known as "Wallpops". 4. Purchase a clipboard & download my printable 12 month calendar for 2015. Its 100% free, easy, and minimal. See it here :-) 5. Show off your favorite pictures by turning them into Polaroid photos. I'll show you how I did it here! 6. Frame your work notes. I know you have at least 5 post-its surrounding your work space with information you refer to every day. Even if its a phone extension list, type it all up, and frame it! The dollar store has tons of 8.5" x 11" photo frames. 7. Check out my other desk makeover tutorials. Linked to the photos below :-) 8. Don't forget your before & after shot!

So it's been a hectic and emotional week. I am finally starting to feel myself again after an emotional job change. Change is good but I often fear it. I arrived to my new job on Monday to see this. This may look normal to some people but for me this is about as depressing as it gets. I am someone who is very effected by my environment, i love the outdoors and I also need windows and natural light. So needless to say when you drive an hour to get to work ... You need a place to welcome and inspire you and this wasn't working for me so... I decided I could cry about it or I could change it. ( I am pretty sure this is a quote from Pinterest ) Here is the After I still have a little to do but I am feeling much better about my little corner if the world. I hope you have a great week!
