A mouthwatering fish biryani (traditionally known as machi biryani) to complement any celebration! It's a layered Basmati rice dish made with spicy haddock fish fillets and uses the "dum" method to create a truly unique and flavourful meal. This recipe is protein-rich and packed with fibre, using less oil and lots of tomatoes and pepper to create a nutritious recipe.

She is a flavor pioneer by the fact she browns sugar to stew her fish. Unheard of, but this extra step creates unparalleled flavor. Don’t believe me, try it for yourself!

Use any type of firm fish-with bone or filet. Top choices include King fish, Carite, red snapper, porgie, baramundi etc.

Here I used black sea bass which is currently available at my non Caribbean -non West Indian fish place. They don’t even know how to remove the scales properly. Lawd haveth mercy. 🤦🏽‍♀️ I asked them to scale it properly three times to no avail. I had scales all over my head, body and kitchen when I was done scaling this! 😂😂 Luckily my father was a fisherman so I was taught all Caribbean Recipes, Seafood, King Fish Recipe, Steamed Fish, Sea Bass, Fish Friday, Stew, Dishes, Red Snapper
