Obviously the larger your terracotta pot the larger space it will water, over a longer period of time. But even with a small pot in a raised bed this method is effective. I find a medium size pot in this video will easy water a meter square. 😊🌱💧

Learning to do this came from a place of necessity: our property had a heavy weed seed bank and my soil needed help but I couldn’t afford to just buy in all that soil, so i focused on healing what I had instead. Mulching the soil helps the soil food web by providing consistent moisture and temperatures, while providing organic matter and forming fungal associations from the plant roots to the soil life.  But I couldn’t spend all spring putting mulch on an acre and good mulch was surprisingly hard to find (that was undyed, not treated with herbicide, and not full of weed seeds)! So I started growing my own (by cover cropping). I started with easier to kill crops like oats and peas Cover Cropping, Vege Garden, Outside Plants, Growing Greens, Garden Compost, Green Stuff, Food Web, Seed Bank, Wood Chips
