Willem Dafoe has a lot of features to play with in a caricature. He has a small but very sharp nose, a large and wide chin, high and bony cheekbones, a pronounced brow, heavy upper eyelids, and so many creases and crannies on his face he could pass as a topographical map. I think he has very interesting teeth, so I chose to try drawing him with a toothy grin. He doesn’t usually smile with his teeth in still photographs, but when he acts his teeth are very prominent.

Here’s my caricature of today’s subject, Jeff Goldblum! Jeff has a long face but not much top of the head… most of his length is in the area between the eyes and mouth. He has full lips and in particular a pronounced lower lip. He also has “sad, hush puppy” eyes.

Here’s my Sean Connery for today’s Daily Coronacature. Connery has a tough face to capture. At first glance it looks easy with his really dark and large eyebrows, the dark eyelashes and “eyeliner” look to his lower lashes, the ski-slope nose, the pursed lips and deep creases along his face. But putting them all together seems tricky. You have to give him a wide forehead, but not as wide as his brows. His nose isn’t really that long but he has a a shorter space between his nose and mouth, and…

Alright Alright Alright! Matthew McConaughey was our subject way back on “Tom’s Daily Coronacature” day 31, but I copped out and posted an old caricature of him rather than do a new sketch. There were a handful of days around then where I had some nasty deadlines and did the same thing. I’m going back and doing new sketches of any subjects I wimped out on. So, here’s a new take on Matthew… I could not resist drawing him doing the “Lincoln Finger Roll”.
