Rosettes are very delicate but incredibly delicious Norwegian cookies that have been a treat for many generations. Typically made only during the holidays as they are quite time consuming to make.

rosettes. I only use Crisco solid, and if they are not going to be used right away, don't put the powdered sugar on them - they get soggy. I use granulated sugar instead and sugar them before they are completely cool. If it takes too long to get the cooked one off the iron, re-heat it momentarily before re-dipping. Do not beat eggs too vigorously or you get bubbles in the batter which result in warty looking rosettes. If you have bubbles, let the batter rest in the fridge over night.
