In the middle of the 20th century it was destroyed by a big fire and was rebuild again. When it was left abandoned i do not know. Second Wave Coyote Buttes North Paria Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness Arizona. The wind always seems to pick up in the afternoon and was so strong this day that I could not set up my large format so was glad I had a digital SLR. Taken about 5pm just as the last light falls on the wave and the background goes into shadow. Then a 2 hour walk back to the vehicle. This was my 3rd visit to the Wave but it's getting harder to get a permit due to its popularity.
