Shetland Sheepdog - Wikipedia
The Shetland Sheepdog. Unlike many miniature breeds that resemble their larger counterparts, this breed was not bred simply by selectively breeding the Rough Collie for a much smaller size. Developed to tend the sheep of the Shetland Islands, whose rugged, stormy shores have produced other small-statured animals such as the Shetland pony. Lively, intelligent, playful, trainable, & willing to please, they are loyal, & affectionate with their family, but are naturally aloof with strangers.
