And she does these beautiful botanical Dutch pours. Where she takes very thin paint and she blows them out with the blow dryer and then creates these intricate lines and designs in them. I wanted to try to do this with the Swipe technique. So I am using my pouring medium and thicker paints and I wanted to swipe these leaves and create this beautiful floral type design. Now I will say a controlled swipe is much much more difficult than the regular swipes where I tilt them. Because in a controlled swipe, you have to know where your composition is going to go and actually create that with the palette knife. It is definitely harder to do and this was my first try at this type of design so I learned a lot and it wasn't exactly what I had expected when I started but that's okay because I definitely am going to try this again. It started to come together a little bit more as I started to drag the end of the brush through to create some of the lines and designs and I this one offset with a lot of negative space but I think the next time that I do it I'll do four petals and I will have it take up a little bit more of the canvas but as I kept going and kept drawing the lines it really started to come together and I thought that this was a very interesting piece and it was very different for me I love trying new things and pushing myself out of my comfort zone because it's how I learn And it's how I feel that I progress as an artist. I will say that I I think that this was successful even though it wasn't exactly what I wanted. And either way, I sure had a ton of fun and I learned a lot. So here it is. Like I said it's very different. The colors are super pretty on the light base. They are bright and bold and the design is super interesting with all kinds of lacing and lines and design. So I will definitely be trying this one again. This was fun.
