Wilder Mann photographer Charles Fréger book explores ancient traditions of tribal Europe - Photographer Charles Fréger set out to capture the myth of the Wild Man. In 19 European countries over two years, Fréger photographed the rituals of men that celebrate the natural cycles of death, decay and rebirth. Dressing in grasses or straw or as indigenous beasts such as bears or deer, throughout Europe men still carry out the ancient practices of communing with nature.
