Here is the after of my stand. Remember the before? I started with a grey primer. After that, came layers and layers of paint, white gesso, and a final wash of grey. I embraced the imperfections, and did a little sanding in spots to reveal some of the paint layers, including a honey color. I almost left the handles alone, but they had such great detail that were enhanced by my paint treatment. How do you like it? It has a companion piece. A bench that I'll share in another post.
