On the road through California with Whatstrendy
Today I’ll give space to one of the best trips I have ever made: a roadtrip in the west coast of the United States, through California, Nevada, Arizona and Utah! For a smoother reading i will…

Frozen Veins - Cathedral Wall - Rocky Mountain National Park - Colorado
I headed out to Rocky Mountain National Park with Erik Page and David Kingham on Saturday morning. The plan was to hit up Loch Lake for sunrise. We spent a lot of time standing out on the middle of this lake freezing our asses off waiting for something interesting to happen in the direction of the Cathedral Wall (Pictured), but nothing ever really materialized. The sky in the other direction did cooperate however, so those pictures will be coming later. For this picture, I loved the deep…
Just follow the Stream - Rocky Mountain National Park
As I approached Lake Odessa on Sunday morning along this stream, it was just before sunrise. I liked the view from here, so I made note to come back after shooting the reflection (it was perfectly calm). I've come away with a few shots from along the stream that I will share. I particularly like this one though. View Large On Black
Warm Rays - St Malo Church - Colorado
View Large On Black I waited for the sun to rise and flood the front with light. This angle will probably be better in the summer when the sun is further north; the shadows will provide more depth at that time of year.
Darkening Sunset - White National Forest - Colorado
I've been studying a bunch of topographical maps lately, looking for some new places to explore. I have almost the entire state in 24k. Anyway, I happened upon this location and decided to check it out last night. Really glad I did now. The skies were changing constantly as sunset approached, and for about a 10 minute span I was like a kid in a candy store. A very busy one at that. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the photo, as much as I enjoyed being there. It was one of those nights where I would…
San Juan Mountains - 01, Colorado (HDR)
Another HDR I took between Ouray and Silverton, CO in the San Juan Mountain Range. I liked the way the partially frozen stream was winding through the scene. HDR with 5 exposures at 1 EV separation. Tone mapped with Photomatix.
Ribbon Falls - Rocky Mountain National Park - Colorado
Ribbon Falls is located on the ridge approaching Black Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. Slightly different perspective than my last photo posted on these falls. A wider focal length was used here, to make the falls stand out in relationship to the mountains. View On Black
Silver Falls, Colorado - 01 (Black & White)
This is Silver Falls located near Pagosa Springs, Colorado. The sun was illuminating the grass on the rocks. Adding the black and white and revealing the vibrant green of the grasses seemed to emphasise this the most for me.
Daniel's Park, Colorado (HDR)
Went up to Daniel's Park, with the intention of getting a promising shot of Mount Evans. Unfortunately a stubborn cloud hung out over the peak until after sunset. Was still a nice setting, so I settled for some pictures of the golf course below.
Elk, Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado
I found this guy grazing in a small openning in the trees within Rocky Mountain National Park (Colorado). It's a single exposure that I cropped to include just the tree and the elk.
