Roy Albert DeMeo (September 7, 1942[1] – January 10, 1983) was a New York mobster who was a member of the Gambino crime family. He is infamous for heading the DeMeo crew, a gang suspected by the FBI of murdering as many as 100 people (although some estimates have put the number as high as 200) between 1973 and 1983. The vast majority of their victim's bodies were disposed of so thoroughly that they were never found. The crew also gained notoriety due to their use of dismemberment .
