A decade ago, in 2015, I shared a tutorial for Caramel Apple Slices that went crazy viral and continues to be one of my most popular recipes. So I thought it would be fun to create Heart Chocolate Apple Slices for Valentine’s Day. These chocolate-covered apple slices are the perfect little sweet treat for a Galentine’s night, Valentine’s Party, or gift to your friends and family. Because I’ve made these chocolate-covered apple treats countless times, I even have a blog post with over 10 tips, tricks, and hacks you need to know that will help you when making them. Here are some of the basic tips, but I recommend checking out the full post as it’s filled with helpful tips. 3 of 10 recommendations: 1. Cut thick apple slices so that the stick stays secure. Approximately 1/2 – 3/4 inch thick works great. 2. Make sure to pat down each apple slice really well with a towel to soak up any extra apple juice. 3. Allow some of the melted dark chocolate to drip off of the apple slice and onto the stick. This will act as a sort of edible glue that holds the stick and apple together. Apple Crafts: Make some yarn wrapped cardboard apples for a SUPER EASY fall fine motor craft. Also provide yellow yarn, so you can reinforce the colors of apples. Not sure if they put slits around the edges, but that would make it easier for the kiddos. Hot glue on a real twig and felt leaf.
