Dr. Nicole LePera on Instagram: "Bookmark for when you have anxiety— or just need to get back into your body.

If you’re like many people and a cold plunge or cold shower sends you too far into fight or flight— you’re not alone.

A hand ice bath can help you feel safe enough to get the benefits of cold (without being submerged).

Remember to breathe and remind yourself you can face cold. Stay submerged for 10-30 seconds. Take deep breaths from the belly.

Try a few rounds if it feels good.

Notice how relaxed you feel afterwards #selfhealers"

My energy is best spent focusing on the present. -I will handle this situation when the time comes. -I’m more capable of handling this situation than I give myself credit for. -I don’t have to figure this all out right now. I trust the process. -I inhale presence. I exhale worry. -I choose to set these worries aside for the moment and bring my focus back to my breath. -It will all get resolved in the end like it always does. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Tell me: Which affirmation if your favorite? Carrie Howard | Anxiety Therapist and Coach on Instagram: "✨Have you had the experience of KNOWING an anxious thought is irrational but still feeling overwhelmed with anxiety about it anyway?

There’s nothing wrong with you… your amygdala has just stepped in to protect you because it perceives you’re under some sort of threat.

When your amygdala takes over to prepare you to fight, flee, or freeze, it temporarily disables your ability to reason and rationalize.

But don’t worry, your higher level thinking comes back online when the perceived threat passes and you’re in a calmer state!

Dr. Nicole LePera on Instagram: "In judgmental homes, we hear nearly constant comments about people’s weight, appearance, or ability. Over time, we internalize the belief that people are judging us. That all they see are our flaws. And that it’s easier (and more safe) to stay small or invisible.

We start to believe are looks are the only thing we have to offer.

This can be a root cause of social anxiety. Why would we want to be perceived when we know people are harsh and critical?

The truth is there are many people out there waiting to know the authentic you. There are people who can support, encourage, and inspire. There are people who can hold space and who want to connect on a deeper level than gossip about other people.

When you’re anxious or scared, your body will release stress hormones like adrenaline and cortisol. Although this can be helpful in some situations, it could also cause physical symptoms. For example, an increased heart rate and sweating. In some people, it might cause a panic attack. A panic attack is a feeling of sudden and intense anxiety. It can be frightening and happen suddenly, often for no clear reason. #panicattacktips #mentalhealthtips #mentalhealthawareness #anixety Before An Exam, Mental Health Awareness, Heart Rate, Psychology, Improve Yourself, Physics, Feelings, Health

Why do you keep turning to food, even when you know it never truly helps?

It’s not about what you ‘should’ do—it’s about what your heart is screaming for when life feels like too much. When emotions hit hard, you grab the one thing that’s given you quick relief: food.

Because eating? It’s become your way of coping.

And coping isn’t about being weak; it’s about trying to survive those moments when it feels like the world is crashing down.

Emotional eating is just that—a coping mechanism. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Tiffany Whyte on Instagram: "Understanding Trauma: Dramatic Events vs. Inner Experiences

Trauma isn't always loud or visible. There’s a difference between a dramatic event and the profound, internal impact it leaves within us. While dramatic events—like accidents or loss—are often prominent, inner trauma is more subtle. It’s the silent shifts within our mind and body where our sense of safety, trust, or self-worth is shaken.

🌱 Dramatic Events: External and visible, these can be life-altering moments that everyone can see.
💭 Inner Trauma: The invisible wounds, often more complex, as they reshape how we feel, think, and interact with the world.

Healing happens when we learn to acknowledge both—the event itself and the personal, inner experience it created. 🌻

Dr. Robyne Hanley-Dafoe on Instagram: "This is one of my favourite tools to share. This breathing technique can re-regulate our nervous systems in seconds. It tells us us that we are okay, we are safe. And this technique works with toddlers, athletes, professionals - everyone!

When birthday cake breathing, it is important to hold the image in your minds eye. This will help to quiet the mental chatter that we often deal with throughout our entire day. Once you have that image, breathe in and then blow out your birthday candles. Keep the imagery in your mind the entire time.

We all have moments where stress and anxiety sneak in, draining our energy and peace of mind.

I’ve been there too - feeling overwhelmed, restless, and tense.

Stress and anxiety are part of life, but there are real ways to reduce the tension.

For example, taking a few deep breaths helps me reset, while going for a peaceful walk clears my mind. 🌿

Limiting caffeine and setting boundaries with my time has also brought more calm into my day. ✋

Simple habits like journaling or listening to calming music reduce my stress, and even short breaks keep me focused and refreshed. 🎶

Cory Muscara on Instagram: "One of the biggest mistakes I see people make when trying to prepare themselves for a high stakes, meaningful event - like a job interview, presentation, or even a first date - is trying to breathe their way to a calm nervous system. This can work temporarily to settle you down, but as soon as you start thinking about and orienting to the event again, you’ll notice a lot of energy moving through your body. This is good! It means you care about what’s about to happen. And it means your body is preparing itself for you to show up engaged, alert, and energized. You don’t wan’t to get in war with that energy, constantly trying to calm it down every time it arises. You instead want to meet it, appreciate it, and then direct it in a meaningful way that lets it b
