Brachiosaurus stood taller than most dinosaurs, on forelegs that were longer than its hind legs. Its long neck made it look like a giraffe.

Giganotosaurus was one of the largest meat-eating dinosaurs — not as big as Spinosaurus, but larger than Tyrannosaurus rex.

For many years, this dinosaur, one of the largest land animals to roam the Earth, was mistakenly called Brontosaurus.

Spinosaurus was the largest carnivorous dinosaur that ever lived, even bigger than Giganotosaurus and Tyrannosaurus.

The dinosaur with the fearsome face was a gentle giant. Triceratops vs. Tyrannosaurus was probably a one-sided battle.

Flying reptiles ruled the skies for millions of years. Pterosaurs, however, were not dinosaurs and they are not the ancestors of modern birds.

Thick plates protected this massive dinosaur from predators. Pictures of the skeleton show the structure of the armor plates.

Archaeopteryx was an evolutionary link between non-avian dinosaurs and birds. Scientists long thought Archaeopteryx was the first bird, but recent discoveries have made them rethink that status.
