Alger Hiss was born today 11-11 in 1904. He's someone most all US Boomers learned about in their history classes. He was pinpointed by Whittaker Chambers in testimony given to the House Un-American Activities in 1948. Hiss was convicted of perjury on a 2nd trial and sent to prison for 2-5 year sentences. He served 3.5 years and continued to maintain his innocence until his death in 1996. Some still maintain today Hiss was a Russian spy.
