House Crashing: A Dreamy & Decadent Delight

This roundup is full of cool bay window decorating ideas for different rooms. Window treatments, furniture choice and other things are covered.

The wooden curtain rods in this photo were wrapped with fabric to give them added interest. Next, a reversible rectangle of fabric (sewn from blue toile and yellow) was folded into pleats and draped over the rod. Secure the end with a length of nylon cord wrapped around the rod, both to hold pleats secure and keep the swag in place.

Folded Drape--the only change I would make with this would be to cut the fabric swag panels longer. I prefer a bit more "length" to the swag panels. LOVE the yellow contrasting with the black and white toile!

I love these shades and the color too. Sunroom Splendor - Don't cover up pretty windows with heavy draperies. These tailored shades are kept raised most of the year, acting as a fabric valance that doesn't hide attractive window moldings. When the sun is low in the sky, the shades can be lowered to control daylight in winter months.

Plate Panache. What else could I hang from a curtain rod? Hummmm, Embroidery hoops with pictures, (kids and or pets), old b/w pictures of relatives, collections of plates, coffee cups, wind chimes, etc. How about a rod with ribbons to a child's height, velcro on the ribbon end and velcro on small stuffed toys. The sky's the limit. Anybody have any other suggestions?
