Rhythm 0 (1974), artist Marina Abramović allowed people to use any of 72 objects on her in any way that they chose for six hours. She stood totally passive and surrendered control of her body to the participators. At first people reacted with modesty and caution, but as time passed, people began to act more aggressively. The consistent allowance of trust juxtaposed the increasing degree of violence she received, as those intimate actions were not subject to her approval.
