Thousands of these little saw whet owls pass through each fall on their way around Lake Ontario. They end up in the NY, PA, and VA area in the USA. Tonight I went to Prince Edward Point Bird Observatory which is on a point out on Lake Ontario, and watched saw whet owl banding. I learned a lot tonight, and am in love with these little birds! This one is lying in the bander's hand getting checked out after receiving some jewelry for his journey.
