The Battle of Camden occurred August 16, 1780. The battle took place in the county of Kershaw. The Continental Army lost, with 800 men killed and 1000 men captured. The British were dubbed the victors. As well as on the verge of conquering South Carolina. The defeat of the Continental army signified that almost all of South Carolina was controlled by the British.

This is the battle of Camden i chose this picture because this picture shows hoe there were so many people injured or dead.

The Swamp Fox, Francis Marion / My GGF Captain Jesse Oates served in the American Revolution under the 'Swamp Fox'.

Francis Marion, better known as Swamp Fox, was one of the greatest American militiamen. Marion was native to the state.
