The Soul Nebula. See Explanation. Clicking on the picture will download the highest resolution version available.

NASA Astronomy Picture of the Day 2016 February 28 IC The Soul Nebula Stars are forming in the Soul of the Queen of Aethopia. More specifically, a large star forming region called the Soul.

#astronomia #ciencia

Messier 90 (also known as and NGC is a spiral galaxy about 60 million light-years away in the constellation Virgo. It is a member of the Virgo Cluster and one of its largest and brightest spiral galaxies.

#astronomia #ciencia

2. Gliese 667Cc

The controversial exoplanet Gliese is the best candidate to host life beyond our own solar system, according to a new ranking of potentially habitable alien worlds.

The Great Nebula in Orion ~ This image, an illusory-color four-panel mosaic taken in different bands of infrared light with the Earth orbiting WISE observatory, shows the Orion Nebula to be a bustling neighborhood or recently formed stars, hot gas, and dark dust. The orange glow, surrounding the Trapezium star cluster, is starlight reflected by intricate dust filaments that cover much of the region. The Orion Nebula cloud complex will slowly disperse over the next 100,000 years.
