A round-up of earlier styles that helped shape the movement. The term "Art Deco" was coined in the 60's and was formally introduced as "Moderne" at the 1925 Paris Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels. To confuse things Moderne is now almost exclusively used to describe the period which followed, Mid-Century Moderne. But Art Deco is alive and well, so other Pins will include random contemporary items that embody the Art Deco spirit and philosophy.
