Are you a builder or a bulldozer?
In high school, I had what can only be described as an epiphany. One day, while walking to Spanish class, an older girl approached me in the hall. She sneered, scrutinized me from head to toe, and then laughed as if she’d just heard a hilarious joke. Except it was just the two of us in the hall. I felt horrible. Then the epiphany struck me—I would never, ever be that girl; instead of making others feel bad, I could make them feel good. It was like a switch had just flipped inside of me. If…
Through the arch
I love the new archways that have been added to lead the way into New Fantasyland. The detail work on them is amazing - I love the little squirrels on them. I was trying to use them to frame Cinderella's Castle, which turned out to be much more of a challenge than I expected. Someone has said that there is little point in digging up an ancestor if you aren't going to make him live. If that is true - and I believe it is - your job is…
Alfred Mouton (1829-64). Louisiana Brigadier General (CSA) West Point Class of 1850 Organized a Louisiana infantry company. Promoted to BG because of his effective and resourceful leadership. Killed leading his brigade at the Battle of Mansfield.
Col. R. Snowden Andrews. Maryland Architect who joined the Confederacy. Suffered a horrendous abdominal wound when he was disemboweled by shrapnel at Cedar Mountain. This type wound was nearly always mortal. With triage the surgeons were treating those more likely to survive. Andrews yelled, if you bastards would treat me I'd live, I've seen a dog survive worse! They did he did... Jacket worn when wounded on right. Post war photo of Andrews seated on bottom left, MD National Guard.
