French - Shortbread _ A shortbread is good especially when the recipe comes from Christophe Felder & that we can manipulate to suit his whims as I do every batch! With the same recipe, you can satisfy his cravings taste vanilla, lemon or orange, almonds or pistachios, because at some occasions we want to breathe comforting & festive scents of cinnamon, nutmeg & anise! #French

Vols-au-Vent Recipe Puff Pastry _ There is a wonderful on-line video from the PBS show “Baking with Julia” that accompanies the book. In it, Michel Richard & Julia Child demonstrate making puff pastry dough (although they go on to use it in other applications). They do seem to give slightly different ingredient measurements verbally than the ones in the book…I listed the recipe as it appears printed in the book!

Cherry Clafouti _ The base of this dish is eggs, & it has a texture a little thicker than a German Pancake. I googled Cherry Clafouti, & I found that Julia Child also has a similar recipe to this one, which solidified my belief that this recipe is not only delicious, but truly, authentically French!

French Chicken Mustard Dijonaise with Bacon & Onions ~ Adapted from David Lebovitz’s “My Paris Kitchen” _ Delicious, quick & easy, one-pot dish, but special enough for company. I use bone-in/skin-on chicken breasts! David suggests serving with his Fresh Herb Pasta. Also this would be perfect with some creamy mashed potatoes, as the gravy is delicious!
