Tight hips & weak glutes (often leads to low back pain) 2. Tight pecs & weak upper back (often leads to neck pain) While there are no ‘bad’ postures. If you spend TOO much time in any one position it will affect your joint mobility. This is why it’s crucial to expose your body to different movement patterns often. Especially if you have a desk job. So what can you do if your job requires you to sit for 8+ hours a day? Here are some tips: 1. Save this routine and refer back to it a few times a week. 2. Set a timer to remind you to get up and move every hour. (Maybe to go get a glass of water because we know you’re probably dehydrated too🙊) 3. Check the ergonomics of your work station. (Think standing desk, maybe with a treadmill?) If you’re spending the majority of your time at this desk it is worth investing some money into. 4. If you can, schedule walk breaks - even if its just 5-10 mins. Can you take your some of your meetings while walking outside? Did you know the movement is actually good for creative thinking and problem solving? One last thing: When it comes to mobility stretching can be helpful but the real key to lasting improvement is strengthening your joints through their full range of motion.
