Do You Know Your Glaive-Guisarme From Your Bohemian Earspoon?

A bardiche or berdiche ("long poleaxe") is a type of glaive polearm known in the 16th and 17th centuries in Eastern Europe. The blade varied greatly in shape, but was most often a long, cleaver type blade. In Russia and in Poland this weapon was used to rest handguns upon when firing. It was standard equipment for the Streltsy (literally "shooters") corps (foot, mounted and dragoons) and also for the Polish infantry.

A glaive (Polish: glewia) is a European polearm weapon, consisting of a single-edged blade on the end of a pole. It is similar to the Japanese naginata, the Chinese guandao, Russian sovnya and Siberian palma. Typically, the blade was around 45 cm (18 inches) long, on the end of a pole 2 m (6 or 7 feet) long, and the blade was affixed in a socket-shaft configuration similar to an axe head, rather than having a tang like a sword or naginata.

This is roughly the look of Lucas' spear, though on the blunt side it has a sickle-like hook.

Aye! I'm Captain Jade Turner! (Also known as "Capn'" "Captain" "Capn' Jade The Brave" And just "Jade". As you miight have guessed, I'm the Captain of the ship. Oh yeah, and don't worry. We're good pirates... well, mostly. We are thieves.. but we also are adventurers and we've discovered whole new parts of the world no one has seen yet. But yeah.. we like to steal stuff... More about me. All I care about is treasure, and my crew. I'd die for any of my crew unlike some other pirates.

One thing I do mourn is that you cannot wear skirts on a motorbike. If they’re too long, they could get caught in the wheel, and even so, if you fell off with bare legs, you would not want to expose them ever again. Imagine tarmac scrapes, at 70 MPH.
