map of the 12 tribes of Israel.  The Tribe of Levi did not received land, but 46 cities, 6 of which were Cities of Refuge.  Joseph had no land, but his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim did.  Eventually, Dan moved north and had a city.  Simeon was absorbed into Judah as well as Benjamin.  After the invasion of Assyria, those west of the Jordan, moved into Judah as well.
