2013 Artist Janie Comito OOAK~ Wee Mary~ Hedgehog Lady~ Thanksgiving- She is Janie's final autumn piece for 2013. She stands 5 3/4" including her wooden stand. She is three way jointed: head & arms. Her & arms & body are made from vintage upholstery velvet. The body is wire armatured as are the arms. Her head is created from a tipped mohair plush. Her eyes are bright onyx beads, & face is needle sculpted, trimmed & hand tinted with fabric paint to impart a life like quality. The face is needle sculpted, trimmed & hand embroidered nose & mouth. A festive hand sewn coat of heavy red & white wool felt with hand embroidered edging. The coat is removable. ❤ 2013 OOAK Janie Comito Velvet Earth Star Pin Cushion on Vintage Spool- A dainty sized & hand sewn from deep green velvet cupped in & capped with green ultra suede. The pin cushion, measuring 1 1/2" wide by 1 3/8" tall, is firmly filled with chopped wool felt, wool fiber & crushed garnet. A charming vintage red glass flower button, is sewn on the center top for keeping your thimble. The pin cushion is affixed to a small wooden Clarks brand spool still containing the original thread.
